TTT #24: 50 Books I Bought For Multiple Reasons

I never borrow books so this leaves me listing down the ones I bought. I buy books for multiple reasons and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Some reasons are reasonable while some are both unreasonable and quite questionable (this is for me buying because the book has a pretty cover).

And now on to the books. I got over 50 books for this topic because I listed 10 reasons so I put 5 books for each. I also tried not to repeat books from the same author. Oh and I haven't read all of these by the way. Some of these are still sitting pretty on my TBR.

Click the book and it'll redirect you to its Goodreads page. Now,
I BOUGHT THESE BOOKS BECAUSE

...OF THE PRETTY/CUTE COVER
Okay but in my defense, I read their synopsis right after

...OF MY GOODREADS TIMELINE
These were all over my timeline and I'm like "WELL OKAY THEN LET ME BUY IT"

...OF MY TWITTER TIMELINE
I love it whenever my mutuals on the bird app talk about books because I get my sources from them

...FRIENDS LOVED/ENJOYED THEM
My Math teacher was actually the reason why I bought Twilight because she enjoyed it so much so here we are

...OF BOOK EDITS/FANARTS
Visually-pleasing edits/fanarts are pretty convincing you know

...OF THE BOOK BLOGGING COMMUNITY
The books I saw on bloggers' posts

...IT WAS ON SALE
I mean I take advantage of the fact that there's a sale (if I can) like pls they're pretty affordable

...I LOVED THE AUTHOR'S PREVIOUS WORKS (NA/ADULT EDITION)
I could honestly go on and on here

...I LOVED THE AUTHOR'S PREVIOUS WORKS (YA EDITION)
I'm not really sure if Storm and Fury is YA because it feels like it's NA but let me just put it here

...I WENT ON A BOOK-BUYING SPREE
These are my recent purchases and I didn't buy just these, I bought the rest of the books in the series so going broke right now ha ha :D

Those are just a very few of the books from the reasons I listed. Most of the time, honestly, I just buy books because of they're either from my favorite authors or because friends talked about them a lot.

Have you also bought books from either of these reasons listed? Were they reasonable or not?

I hope you're well. Stay safe.

  1. I love a good cover so much. Love & Gelato is awesome (loved the story too) and Our Chemical Hearts is so cool with the fish! I have that but haven't read it yet. I still need to read the sequel to Warcross too...

  4. Book bloggers, sales, and books by authors I love get me to buy many of the books I buy. I also tend to buy books my Twitter friends write and books by authors on Twitter that are interesting.

  5. I love both The Book Thief and Between Shades of Gray, definitely good choices for sale purchases! I also enjoyed Daughter of The Pirate King and A Court of Thorns and Roses. I'm reading The City of Brass at the moment and it's been great so far!

  8. I've definitely bought books because of their pretty covers (but only if the synopsis appealed to me as well, haha). And I have a few authors whose books I always look forward to (Leigh Bardugo and Jay Kristoff, to name a few).

  9. How funny that you got Twilight because of a teacher. :) I think I initially came across Addicted to You when it was on NetGalley. It became an instant favorite. ACOTAR was just everywhere when it came out so I can't pinpoint how I came to that one. Storm and Fury was fun and now I'm so ready to dive into Rage and Ruin. One of these days I really will read something by Kendall Ryan. Eventually. :)

  10. The only reason I really buy books is because they were on sale or Amazon promised me a credit if I spent X amount of dollars, and even then, I try to find sale books. I have a great library system and am pretty lucky with approvals, therefore, I don't need to buy a lot of books. Some of your reasons fit why I added a book to my TBR, though.

  13. I love a good cover, especially when it's on sale (bonus for favorite author). Same for if bloggers, especially ones that have reading tastes close to mine recommend it all the time.
