TTT #16: Favorite Bookmarked (or Highlighted) Quotes

Today's topic is supposed to be FAVORITE BOOKMARKS but I don't really pay THAT MUCH attention to bookmarks so I took a spin around the topic and decided to make this about some of my bookmarked pages where my favorite highlighted quotes are. These are the quotes that I find inspiring and uplifting, and a bunch of these quotes made me cry. These are the ones that really hit right home, you know? The quotes that touched me in my heart and how I come to treasure these.

Let me start this with a quote from Rebel, Legend #4, by Marie Lu:

“ The world shifts, tilts, sometimes collapses.
But sometimes, it bends toward you, and everything feels right. ”

The Wish Collector
by Mia Sheridan
“I have faith in you, my boy. But you already know that. You need to find faith in yourself.”

He turned toward her, the happiness that had flooded through him moments before crumbling to doubt. “Maybe it’s not about me, Myrtle. This town, hell, the world at large, isn’t going to be accepting of me just because I decided to walk out into it.”

“It’s always about you, Jonah. It’s always been about you. The world will react the way the world will react. That’s not your business. You have faith in your own worth and the world won’t matter.

LONG SHOT
Hoops, #1
by Kennedy Ryan

“Thank you, MiMi.” I blink at my tears with my head tucked into her long, silver braid. “I feel so weak sometimes, and you make me feel strong.”

“Struggle does not make you weak,” she whispers back. “Struggling against those who hold us is what makes us, over time, stronger than they are. Strong enough to fight back. Strong enough to win.”

FOREVER RIGHT NOW
by Emma Scott
“I’m more concerned about you hating you.”

“I don’t . . . “

“Addicts lie, Dar,” Max said gently. “That’s one of our defining characteristics. You’ll always be an addict. You’ll always fight that battle. But fight it with your best, most honest self, if you want a chance to win.” His smile was sad and knowing at the same time. “It’s too easy to slip if you don’t.”

PUNK 57
by Penelope Douglas
“You want to be loved without risking consequence, so you reach out to get the attention you need while enjoying the luxury of taking no responsibility for those words.”

I start to shrink into myself. I don’t like what he’s saying or the fact that he’s saying it, but I can’t deny that he’s right.

I don’t want to hear feedback, because if they knew it was me, their reactions would be different. But it’s not exactly fair to throw things in their faces and hide under their noses, either.

“Alone, Empty, Fraud, Shame, Fear,” he murmurs, holding me tighter. “Don’t you get it? You don’t have to be afraid or embarrassed. No one does you better than you. You can’t be replaced. Not everyone will see that, but only you need to.

THE WRATH & THE DAWN
The Wrath & the Dawn, #1
by Renee Ahdieh
His grip on her hand tightened. “Such wise words. Does Khalid know what a treasure you are, my dearest star?”

Shahrzad’s eyes furnished him with the smile her lips could not.

Musa shook his head. “He has suffered a great deal. It troubles me immensely to know he inflicts suffering on others as a result. And it vexes me because these are not the actions of the boy I knew. But as you are young, I am old, and in my age, wisdom becomes less of a birthright and more of an expectation. In my life, the one thing I have learned above all is that no individual can reach the height of their potential without the love of others. We are not meant to be alone, Shahrzad. The more a person pushes others away, the clearer it becomes he is in need of love the most.

SAVING FRANCESCA
by Melina Marchetta

I feel the wave of sadness come over me. I want the bus driver to turn the bus around and I want to spend the rest of my days in a whirlwind of the last few days. Of flirting. Or laughing. Of ridding the world of evil. Of folk songs. Of piggybacks. Or hip-hop dancing. Or foolishness.

And most of all, of forgetting.

I look past them to where Will and his friends are sitting, and he catches my eye for a moment and smiles. It’s a weird smile, but it reaches his eyes and I bottle it. And I put in my ammo pack that’s kept right next to my soul. The one that holds Mia’s scent and Justine’s spirit and Siobhan’s hope and Tara’s passions. Because if I’m going to wake up one morning and not be able to get out of bed, I’m going to need everything I’ve got to fight this bastard of a disease that could be sleeping inside of me.

I wanted to add a comment on each quote but never mind. I don't have 10 books for this list. I just wanted to share these quotes and I wanted the message to get across that: YOU ARE STRONG

Whatever you're feeling right now, whatever you're going through, whatever negative thoughts that are drifting in your mind at this moment, just know that you'll get pass it. Yes, it hurts. Yes, the moments are there when you feel like you can't do it anymore and the inner voice inside you is telling you to give up. Yes, it's tiring and it's difficult. And you just want everything to end, for the pain and whatever other else you're struggling with. But I ask you to fight. Keep on fighting even if you think no one is there for you, even if you think that the world around you is falling apart, even if you think it's not worth it anymore. KEEP ON FIGHTING. I know, I know, it's hard as fuck. But please, don't give up. If you're reading this and you feel alone, feeling like no one's there to listen, I'm here. I might be someone from the internet but I'm willing to hold your hand even if it's through a virtual connection. I'm here to talk to if you want, and I'll try my best to be there. Why am I offering this? Because I've been there. And no one was around. But I willed myself to fight and to think of the things I look forward to. The future I want to grasp. Even if I was fighting that battle alone.

I hope you channel whatever you're feeling into anything that doesn't harm not just others but also yourself. Look for an outlet that does something good to you. Something that makes your feelings lighter because you deserve it.

I hope you're doing well despite everything. I hope that even with the pain and hurt, you're still fighting hard every day. Just know that it's already a huge win every morning you wake up to a new day, that's how strong you are.

Take your time. Let things be on your own pace. We're all trying to get to the point called happiness. Let's not rush it but let's also not forget along the journey that we are capable of many great things.

Ending this with a quote from Addicted After All, Addicted Series #3, by Krista and Becca Ritchie:

“ I’m proud of myself, and it’s a weird thing to be. I revel in this triumph. I’m nearing the last stretch of a long bumpy road, bruised from falling, but still running. It feels good.”

*hugs with lots of love with a message that tells you that you are worthy*
